Howard Roark, the enigmatic protagonist of Ayn Rand’s novel “The Fountainhead,” has left an indelible mark on my perception of integrity. I know, on a second read, much later in life, I found several limitations, both in the novel and in Roark — but, loyal to my childhood hero, I will stay focused on the good.
